Detectives say the crash happened just after midnight on Route 185 when a car that was carrying three people collided with a parked tractor-trailer.
Stephanie Weymouth, a 31-year-old passenger, was pronounced dead shortly after police arrived on the scene.
The 28-year-old driver from Staten Island and a 27-year-old passenger from Old Bridge were brought to Jersey City Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.
No arrests had been made as of Saturday evening.
