Police: Bridgeport man arrested for role in gas station shooting

On April 8, Bridgeport police say Elijah Vines, 25, was shot in the leg during a shootout at the BP Gas Station on Fairfield Avenue.

A Bridgeport man is facing several charges for his involvement in a shooting last month.
On April 8, Bridgeport police say Elijah Vines, 25, was shot in the leg during a shootout at the BP Gas Station on Fairfield Avenue.
Vines' injury was not life-threatening. Following an investigation, detectives determined Vines was an active participant in the shooting.
Last Thursday, members of the U.S. Marshal's Violent Fugitive Task Force and Bridgeport police located Vines in Bridgeport's South End and arrested him. He was arraigned the following day.
Vines' charges include assault, criminal possession of a firearm and reckless endangerment.
Police say the shooting remains an active investigation.
