A Bridgeport police officer was hospitalized after he was struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning, police say.

Authorities say it happened at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Main Street at 2:10 a.m.

Officials have not provided additional information regarding the accident.

The vehicle that hit the officer was towed.

The injured officer was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.

Officials say are actively investigating.
