Heather Gansel, a Stamford-based chiropractor, was arrested last week for allegedly stealing between $419,000 and $434,000 from her 92-year-old grandmother, Marietta Sabini.

Police say some of the money went to finance her business, CORE Fitness.

Gansel, however, claims that she merely borrowed $200,000 from her grandmother with the intention of paying it back. She claims her grandmother consented to everything.

According to Sabini's son, she died in October at age 92, and the financial issues took a toll on her health.
