A man wanted in several states was arrested Wednesday in connection with a stabbing in Bridgeport, according to police.
Police say Nicholas Allwood ran from a house and was chasing a woman with a knife as officers were preparing to arrest him.
Officers say they did not know the woman was being held hostage at the time.
Police say Allwood is also accused in a separate stabbing earlier in the day on Hanover Street, and he's also a suspect for a stabbing on State Street several weeks ago.
Police say Allwood has felony warrants out in numerous states and is also wanted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement out of New York.
His bond has been set at $1,250,000.
