A man from Derby was arrested with the possession and intent to distribute over 50 grams of methamphetamine.

Police say 46-year-old Andre Messam was caught selling 55 grams of the drug to an undercover FBI agent on May 10.

Further lab analysis of the methamphetamine showed that it was 100% pure, according to authorities.

Police say Messam fled police who tried to stop his car in North Haven on Wednesday morning. He was later arrested at a rental car agency with $7,000 in cash.

If convicted, authorities say he could face 10 years in prison.
