Firefighters said Monday a teen driver fell asleep at the wheel in a weekend Wilton car crash.
Police said the accident occurred Sunday morning by the intersection of Vista Road and Route 33. Police said it was a high-impact crash. According to firefighters, the vehicle flipped on its side and pinned the driver inside.
Residents claim although the area speed limit is 35 miles per hour, drivers speed through at times in excess of 60 miles per hour.
The driver was taken to Norwalk Hospital with just a few minor cuts on his legs. Police haven't released his name because he's 17 years old, but they said he's from Westchester County, New York.
