Torrington police say 41-year-old Vincent Wynne turned himself into police on sexual assault charges involving a minor.

Police say Wynne confessed to engaging in sexual acts with the 15-year-old.

Ansonia police say they were investigating Wynne on a separate complaint when they discovered text messages on Wynn's cellphone involving a juvenile.

Police say after determining the incident with the juvenile took place in Torrington, the case was transferred to the Torrington Police Detective Bureau.

Ansonia’s school superintendent confirmed that Wynne was a former Ansonia teacher who resigned in April.

Wynne posted a $25,000 bond and is due in Litchfield court in August.
