Police in Bridgeport have identified the 25-year-old victim who was found dead near the boat launch ramp at Seaview and Newfield avenues.

Police say Emily Todd, of Bethel, was shot once in the back of the head.

Gregorio Henriques, who owns H&H Shellfish, says he and his brother found Todd in the sand Sunday morning and called police.

Police say a man shot her at the beach late Saturday. They say surveillance cameras helped them get a clear look at the suspect. 

Police say they are not sure how the two ended up at the beach, but think there may have been a struggle before the gun went off.

Police say they hope to make an arrest later this week.
