New Milford police have identified the pedestrian who died Thursday while crossing Danbury Road.

Police say Alexander Jefferson was crossing just south of New Milford High School when he was struck.

Authorities say the driver stayed on scene and said he did not see Jefferson until it was too late.

There was no word yet on if any charges will be filed.
