Bridgeport police say a man is in serious condition following an overnight shooting at the Marina Village housing complex on South Avenue.
Police say a resident called 911 at around 11:30 p.m. Friday to say that a man in a white tank top was assaulting two people.
They say moments after the 911 call was made, a crowd of about 100 people formed around 22-year-old Jose Cintron, who had been shot in the torso.
Police say when they arrived on the scene, they saw a possible suspect running away. They say the assault may have occurred as a result of tensions between the residents of buildings 14 and 22.
News 12 Connecticut counted at least 20 spent shell casings at the scene, marked as evidence by police.
Police say Cintron is recovering this evening at Bridgeport Hospital.
Reports say there have been no arrests.
