Bridgeport police say a 26-year-old woman is fighting for her life after being struck multiple times in the head with a hatchet.
Investigators say the attacker was the victim's estranged boyfriend, 42-year-old Pagan Berrocales of Bridgeport, who has been arrested.
Officials say the brutal assault took place at the victim's home on Orland Street on Friday morning.
Police say Berrocales is facing a variety of charges, including attempted murder.
