Milford police say a Trumbull man is facing charges Monday for fraudulently taking ownership of a $30,000 boat in April 2015.
Police say Christopher Fiore, 24, told the Department of Motor Vehicles that the boat was abandoned at his marina's property. They say he was able to remove the registered owner's name after filing fraudulent paperwork with the DMV and Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
Police say Fiore then sold that boat to someone else.
Fiore is due in court Sept. 13 on larceny and forgery charges.
