? Bridgeport police arrested a man for allegedly holding his ex-girlfriend against her will and assaulting her with a machete Sunday.
Police say they were alerted about the situation when the unidentified ex-girlfriend flagged them down. The suspect, 20-year-old Anthony Bonet, led police on a short foot chase before entering the basement of a North Avenue home and hiding in a cubby hole.
According to police, a dog from the K-9 unit located Bonet and bit him on the arm. He was then taken into custody.
Bonet was taken to St. Vincent?s Medical Center to be treated for his wounds. He is charged with illegal restraint, kidnapping and first-degree assault. More charges are pending.
