A person was shot and killed in Bridgeport, police say.

The shooting happened Monday at Washington Terrace around 8:30 p.m.

Jose Alicea, 38, died after suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. 

Police say the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and Alicea was the only person targeted. 

Investigators are calling the shooting a homicide. 

Police say Alicea has an extensive arrest history ranging from felony drug charges to assault and risk of injury to a minor charges. They say he was last arrested at the beginning of March.
