A man was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly threatening to kill a woman and her friend at a multi-unit housing complex in Stamford.
Police arrived at the complex on Ludlow Street around 9:20 a.m. Stamford police Cpt. Diedrich Hohn says Edgar Sanabria-Arevalo assaulted his girlfriend, threw her to the ground, strangled her and prevented her from calling 911.
“Her friend tried to intervene. She was also threatened," said Cpt. Hohn.
The alleged victims were eventually able to lock themselves in a bathroom. Police then surrounded the home and blocked the street.
Cpt. Hohn says Sanabria-Arevalo, 31, was taken into custody “peacefully.” He faces multiple charges, including threatening, assault and strangulation.
Sanabria-Arevalo was held on $25,000 bond.
