Police: New York man might have suffered medical episode before fatal Stamford crash

Authorities say James Morley, 71, was driving in the area of 690 Atlantic Street when his SUV hit a utility pole just before noon Friday.

A New York man has died following a crash in Stamford, police say.
Authorities say James Morley, 71, was driving in the area of 690 Atlantic Street when his SUV hit a utility pole just before noon Friday.
The airbags were deployed.
Morley, who was unresponsive, was removed from the vehicle by Stamford Fire Department and taken to Stamford Hospital in critical condition.
He later died at the hospital.
Police say they are investigating if Morley suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will make the final determination.
