Police: Norwalk man charged in deadly vehicle crash

A Norwalk man was charged in connection to a deadly vehicle crash, officials say.

Police say 33-year-old Chrishod Johnson was under the influence when he hit a man driving a moped in April.

According to police, 52-year-old Jose Olavarria, of Norwalk, was transported to Norwalk Hospital, where he later died.

It happened on the intersection of Reed Street and West Avenue before 4 a.m.

Johnson was charged with second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle, operating under the influence of alcohol and or drugs and operating in violation of a limited license.

His bond is set at $50,000 as Johnson's court date is Aug. 14.
