Ansonia police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide that occurred Thursday at a home on Westfield Avenue.

Authorities say it appears that Yanis Tavarez broke in at around 5 a.m. and fatally shot his ex-wife, Miquelina Lebron, before turning the gun on himself.

Two other people were inside the home at the time. They were not hurt.
