Police are looking into what started the fire that destroyed Swanson's Fish Market and two adjacent stores, Lucy?s Kitchen and Matsuri Sushi, Sunday morning.
Firefighters believe the fire started in the fish market?s attic. Officials state that arson has not yet been ruled out.
Police determined that 35-year-old Swanson's Fish Market is a complete loss, and the two neighboring stores are extensively damaged.
Officials are investigating the attic?s electrical units and they are looking into a report from the owner of the fish market, Gary Swanson, that says someone was spotted driving into the parking lot at 3:00 a.m.
Police ask anyone with information to call Fairfield Police Department at 203-254-4800.
