Bridgeport police say an expensive collectors' item was stolen from the Bass Pro Shops store in Bridgeport.
The item in question is an antique, muzzle-loading gun similar to those used in the 1700s. It's unknown whether it's a working firearm.
Police say three suspects broke a window of the retailer, located in Steelepoint Harbor, and stole the antique weapon. They say the suspects may have left in a silver car.
News 12 Connecticut spoke with a corporate communications contact with Bass Pro Shops who says "this is an extremely rare incident for their stores." The store says it has a number of security cameras at the Bridgeport location that they hope will help police.
This marks the second time in a month that the store has been robbed. In that first case, police say four rifles were stolen. Police say they believe the two incidents could be connected.
