Police were called to Fairfield Warde High School today after reports of a text referencing a threat to schools reported by a parent.
Police quickly determined the threatening text was circulated on Wednesday and directed at Trumbull High School and not Fairfield Warde.
Trumbull officials say a school threat hoax incident occurred yesterday, and the school's principal says rumors started circulating throughout school and on social media at the end of the school day.
However, in a letter to parents, police spoke with the apparent parties involved and determined the rumors were unfounded, and no threat exists.
Police in Fairfield left the high school after determining there was no actual threat.
