Police respond to report of attempted carjacking at Monroe gas station

Monroe police say they responded to a Monroe gas station after a driver called from his car following an attempted carjacking.
The man was pumping gas when two people approached and displayed guns, he ducked into his car and drove away, police say.
According to police, the two people with guns drove toward Trumbull.
News 12's Tom Krosnowski was at the gas station earlier this morning and spoke with a gas station clerk, who was unaware of the incident until police went inside.
The clerk said robberies like this are not common at the station.
Police say they are working with the gas station to get security video.
