Police say they "feel very strongly" that there is a connection between two shootings that happened Friday night -- one in New Haven and the other in Hamden.
New Haven police released new video of the shooting that happened around 11 p.m. on Thompson Street.
An 8-year-old boy was shot in the calf. He was taken to Yale's New Haven Children's Hospital and is expected to be OK.
The Hamden shooting happened earlier in the night at a house party that had about 500 people in attendance. When police arrived at the scene, they say a man shot into the crowd, injuring five people. The victims, between 18 and 23 years old, were taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK.
Police describe the suspect as a light-skinned black man in his early 20s with hair on his chin.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to give them a call.
