It has been two years to the day since a woman was shot during an attempted robbery at the Norwalk Stop and Shop, and police say the investigation remains active.

The victim, a 50-year-old Greenwich woman, was approached by the shooter in the parking lot. When she screamed for help, police say the individual shot her in the stomach and fled.

The victim survived the shooting, but police will not release her identity.

Police say DNA samples were taken from evidence collected at the scene and tested by the state lab. No matches were found when the DNA was compared to other samples in the state database, but police say they are hopeful they can identify a suspect soon.
