A Stamford woman is hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a car.

It happened on the corner of Washington Boulevard and Richmond Hill Avenue.

Police say the 32-year-old woman was in the crosswalk when she was struck by a pickup truck.

They say it's unclear "who had the light," but because the woman was in the crosswalk, the driver was given a $265 ticket.

The driver said he did not see the pedestrian until he hit her.
