Stamford officials are warning residents to only use authorized sites when being tested for COVID-19 as a potential scam has been discovered.
The city says police are investigating reports of a group calling itself "Community Health Services," offering testing at different spots in the east side of the city.
Police say the representatives are asking for resident's IDs and insurance cards, which are not required at most approved testing locations.
Police say the group has no affiliation with Community Health Center, which runs legitimate sites throughout the city.
