Police say cellphone video has become increasingly important to law enforcement as they investigate crimes.
Some police officers say they consider video to be more accurate than witness testimony. Stamford police say they were able to apprehend the suspect in a club shooting thanks to cellphone video from a witness.
Forensic units are able to clear up video quality, slow it down and enlarge it. Stamford's police department has even launched a special unit dedicated to enhancing cellphone video, surveillance and other media.
Video can also work against police. In Bridgeport, two officers pleaded guilty to beating and Tasering a man they arrested. The entire incident was caught on video.
