A Bridgeport intersection was flooded and closed off Sunday after a pickup truck crashed into a fire hydrant.
The incident occurred just after 3:30 a.m. at the intersection of Coleman Street and Hallal Avanue.
Police say two women inside the pickup truck claimed they were being chased by another vehicle. The pickup then crashed into the fire hydrant, which triggered the flooding.
Authorities say they found the passenger of the pickup, who was hurt, on Coleman Avenue. She was taken to the hospital, but it was not immediately clear where the driver had gone.
City officials say they plan to repair or replace the hydrant as soon as possible.
Police say it's not clear who exactly was chasing the women in the pickup.
