Former President Donald Trump moved past 270 Electoral votes to win re-election. Trump also took the lead in the popular vote -- something he failed to achieve in his 2016 win.

There were several new state leaders that were elected in the 2024 Elections. In the State Senate 22nd District, Quinnipiac professor Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox defeated Republican Chris Carrena for Marilyn Moore's old seat.
In other local political races in the 2024 Elections, Rep. Jim Himes was re-elected to the U.S. House after defeating Republican challenger Dr. Michael Goldstein and Independent Benjamin Wesley.
