In honor of Pride Month, state leaders gathered in Hartford to raise the pride flag above the State Capitol on Monday.
Connecticut has raised the flag over the Capitol every June since 2019.
State officials said it symbolizes that everyone is welcome in the state. "This is a signal to folks all across the state that there are people who are here for you, who have your back and who are around to love and embrace you," says State Treasurer Erick Russell (D).
The flag will stay raised throughout June.
