A city organization is backing Mayor Michael Bloomberg's embattled congestion pricing plan, saying the Bronx and city will benefit. The Partnership for New York City has spent $1 million to research and promote the plan. Bloomberg wants to charge drivers $8 and truckers $21 to enter Manhattan below 86th Street from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays.
State lawmakers did not have a chance to vote on the plan before the legislative session ended. The project needs their approval before moving forward.
Some local leaders and Councilman David Weprin are among the chorus of voices calling for more research on the plan.
