The lawyer for a Stratford mother who brought a handgun to her daughter's middle school says his client is now on probation.
Police say they charged Elizabeth Vargas, 37, for carrying a gun at Wooster Middle School last month.
Officers say it is illegal to carry a firearm into a school, but believe Vargas never intended to hurt anyone.
Her attorney says a judge placed her on 18 months probation yesterday.
