Protesters gathered Sunday at Mount Avery Baptist Church is Bridgeport to rally as part of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Community Organizing for Racial Equality (CORE) put together the march in reaction to the recent deaths of African-American men at the hands of police.
Organizers say that while they grieve for the five police officers shot to death in Dallas, this march was not inspired by that tragedy, but by the recent deaths of black men at the hands of police in Louisiana and Minnesota.
The marchers ended up at the Bridgeport Police Department to convey their message that too many people in the U.S. have died because of the use of force by police.
