A public forum on Bridgeport's youth curfew became heated last night.
The curfew was passed after a series of murders earlier this year, including the death of a 14-year-old. Some residents maintain the curfew is needed to clamp down on violence.
Representatives from the American Civil Liberties Union say the curfew is a violation of the rights of all teenagers in the city. They say studies have shown that curfews are not effective and that they are not a solution to the violence.
The ACLU is considering filing a lawsuit to challenge the ordinance.
