Changes that the state is planning for Silver Sands State Park were discussed Thursday night in Milford.
The state presented its plans during a public hearing, including a new concession stand, bathroom facilities and expanded parking.
But with numerous concerns like parking fees and traffic, locals hope state officials will head back to the drawing boards.
State officials say parking charges would be effective from Memorial Day to Labor Day. They say residents can buy a yearlong pass for $67.
Officials don't anticipate any changes to be completed until the summer of 2017, at the earliest.
