Public works crews are trying to get ahead of the next winter storm after Sunday's snow and freezing temperatures left some really dangerous conditions behind.
Fairfield DPW says every road in town has been treated and salted, but the roads were still frozen over with temperatures in the low teens Monday morning.
Public Works Director John Marsilio says Fairfield doesn't use salt on its roads anymore, and super cold days are exactly why.
Tuesday's snowstorm may leave behind 2 to 4 more inches of accumulation. Marsilio doesn't anticipate freezing being a problem.
