The price of gas is hitting record highs in
Connecticut, sitting at $4.60 for a gallon of regular gas.
That number
is up six cents from Monday
and 70 cents from a month ago, when we were under $4 a gallon.
According to AAA, the
national average is continuing to set records too, with nearly every state
above $4 a gallon.
AAA says the increase is primarily due to the high
cost of oil, which is close to $110 a barrel. The decrease in demand between
spring break and Memorial Day weekend is having no effect this year.
