A state lawmaker is pushing to get an open container law on the books to ban passengers from drinking on Connecticut roadways.
State Senator Bob Duff (D-Norwalk, Darien) plans to reintroduce a bill banning the practice, despite similar measures failing in the past. Duff believes allowing passengers to drink in cars sends the wrong message to drivers, and he says there's a chance the driver will drink. Connecticut is one of 13 states to allow the practice.
