The holiday season kicked off Sunday at the 26th annual Stamford Parade Downtown Spectacular.
The rain did not keep the balloons on the ground or prevent people from attending the event.
About 100 people controlled the 14 balloons. There were 12 marching bands in the parade, including the University of New Haven.
There were also five floats and of course, Santa made an appearance.
