Saturday's rain could not stop Stamford's 29 annual St. Patrick's Day parade for the community to celebrate and enjoy.
The event featured bagpipes leading step dancers and lots of green decor.
Organizers said there were more than 100 groups marching in what's become Fairfield County's largest St. Patrick's Day parade.
The event, however, celebrated more than just Irish heritage as it also featured demonstrations from Chinese, Peruvian and Polish groups and teams like Stamford Little League.
"In Dublin, as we say, it is 'misting.' This is what helps us display our diversity within the city and within Fairfield County, and I really appreciate the exposure for that purpose," said Michael Feighan, of the Irish-American Cultural Society of Stamford.
Funds raised at the event benefit the city's Irish-American Cultural Society.
