Record-breaking number of drivers expected to travel for 4th of July

AAA says it is expecting 61.6 million people will be driving at least 50 miles during this Fourth of July week - both a new record and over a million people more than last year.
This follows a recent trend, with this year’s Memorial Day weekend also setting a new record for car travel during the period.
AAA also says New York City will be the third most popular domestic destination for travel, while Boston will be the ninth most popular, meaning plenty of that traffic will be making its way through Connecticut.
As far as the best times to travel, transportation data provider Inrix says the earlier, the better.
