This morning, Connecticut Sentencing Commission is considering major reforms to the state's bail system.
Advocates from across Connecticut attended a public meeting on the issue Thursday night.
Critics of the current program say too many people are being held on high bonds for minor crimes.
They say that there are about 650 people in state prisons right now with bails of less than $20,000.
Earlier this year, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy asked the commission to reconsider its bond guidelines, saying the current system unfairly affects minorities and the poor.
