Religious leaders gathered at the dock of Fenton's Marine on Sunday to give a special blessing of the fleet.
Officers saluted more than 100 boats passing by Fenton Marine's dock Sunday with dozens of Bronx residents cheering them on.
Several clergy members came by to pray over boaters as they passed by the dock.
This tradition is about remembering sailors who have died. Organizers say they remember the sailors by dropping a wreath in the water.
Organizers say that the event is also about remembering current boaters by teaching them how to stay safe when they are out on the water.
