A new report shows that there are more children going hungry in the Bronx and the city.
Some patrons of a local food pantry say they rely on the centers as their main source of food. Workers at food pantries say in the past few months, they have seen a increase in people needing food. According to one pantry's director, the number of hungry children in the area is a growing problem. She also says that in this poor economy, there sometimes isn't enough food to give out.
During the current recession, pantries say it's not just the homeless asking for help to feed their families. Pantry workers say working middle class residents are also looking for help.
