The 71-year-old man who escaped a Georgia prison and has lived as a fugitive in Connecticut for nearly 50 years will reportedly not have to go back to prison.
Published reports say Georgia officials will allow Robert Stackowitz to remain free, and if Connecticut agrees he will have community supervision until 2022.
Stackowitz was caught back in May. His attorney argued because of his client's medical issues, going back to prison would have been a death sentence.
