Many residents took advantage of the free admission to Connecticut's state parks this weekend.
News 12 was at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport where people enjoyed cookouts and playing sports.
Park officials say the turnout was even bigger than they had expected.
Gov. Dannel Malloy waived all parking and admission fees to celebrate the state park system's centennial anniversary.
