A search and rescue dog from Redding is in need of a rescue himself.
Anthony Carafa was just about finished training his dog Sonny to do search and rescue. But a few days ago the dog ran away from Carafa's back yard.
Carafa was a triage worker at Ground Zero in New York City immediately following the September 11th attacks. He says that experience inspired him to hand-select Sonny and train him especially for search and rescue.
Sonny is a 3-year-old Irish Setter and weighs about 50 pounds. He was spotted Tuesday morning on Freeborn Road in Redding. Carafa is offering a $500 reward for anyone who finds his dog. If you have any information call (203) 938-9479.
