A Ridgefield native and Team USA Olympic medalist is back in town after swimming in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Kieran Smith, 21, started competing as a swimmer at just 7 years old and grew up swimming at Ridgefield Aquatic Club.
Smith came in third place in the men's 400 meter freestyle race in Tokyo, becoming the first Team USA swimmer to get a medal in the race since the 2012 London Olympics.
Friday's meet-and-greet included a question and answer segment along with photo signings.
Smith tells News 12 he wants to inspire the next generation of swimmers from the Ridgefield Aquatic Club.
Smith heads back to the University of Florida within the next week to start training for his final collegiate year of swimming.
