A Stratford boy well-known in the local football scene was killed in an accidental shooting in Georgia, his family say.
Zyon McDuffie, 14, grew up in Bridgeport and Stratford. His family tells News 12 his whole life was built around football. "Everyone loved him.  At football he just kept getting better and better every season. He had so much potential,” says a loved one.
The family says the teen was fatally shot in an accident inside his house in Georgia on Sunday.
McDuffie's POP Warner and PAL football coach for the past nine years, Tyrell Wright, of Stratford, says he was heartbroken when the Flood Middle School student left Stratford a few months ago to move to Georgia with his mom who took a new job at a hospital.
Family members have also started a GoFundMe for funeral expenses for the late teen.
